Ms. Boucher started her first business transfer company in 1994 when she became an active affiliate with Business Brokers Network. April is the Owner / Responsible Real Estate Broker of The Professionals Group, LLC, with an emphasis on business consulting, business mergers, and acquisitions, business enhancement, business start-up consulting, and machinery and equipment consulting.  April is certified through Business Evaluation Systems as a Senior Business Analyst, and  Business Enhancement Consultant. She has over 17 years of business transfer and business services experience and is a member of the Society of Business Analysts. April received her degree in Business Administration and Business Management from the University of Sioux Falls.

Mr. Melius has a record of exceptional experience as a Broker Associate with The Professionals Group, LLC.  He received his B.S. Degree in Agricultural Operations from South Dakota State University.  Dean has worked more than eight years in the industry specializing in rural business and in the manufacturing industry.   Dean holds the designation of "Senior Business Analyst". He has an extensive background in Sales Management in addition to having owned and operated his own business for over twenty eight years.

Mr. Burman is Real Estate Broker Associate with The Professionals Group, LLC. He has B.S. degree in Engineering Physics from South Dakota State University, pre-MBA studies in Marketing & Finance from the University of South Dakota and applied corporate certifications in careers with 3-M, Citibank and Gateway. He has experience in analyzing business operations and product marketing; as well as packaging entities for business opportunities or merger presentations.  He became a registered Marketing & Management Consultant in 1984; and has served a wide range of clients across multiple industries ranging from small/medium-sized businesses, suppliers to larger organizations; as well as global Fortune 1000 firms. He specializes in identifying opportunities for utilizing technologies to increase revenues, improve the bottom line; and enhance the future value of businesses.

Chris Karr joins The Professionals Group, LLC as a business and financial consultant. Chris has been assisting individuals and companies since 2004 by providing; business valuations, identifying business opportunities, financial analysis, and securing financing.

Chris works closely with buyers and sellers on various aspects of business transactions, including: start-ups, expansions, acquisitions, due diligence, feasibility analysis, projections, deal structure, market conditions, management capability and exit strategies.

Chris has been involved with several start-ups and has been an owner in several companies including: Cayn Enterprises, Inc and Solo-Step, Inc. Cayn Enterprises provides gaming supplies to casinos throughout the Midwest and Solo-Step is a fall support system that is used by patients in physical therapy settings. Solo-Step is currently featured in over 120 facilities in 5 Countries, including 32 VA Hospitals. In 2008, Solo-Step was a finalist for South Dakota’s Award in Business Excellence. In 2009, Chris was chosen as the Small Business Administration’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year for his work with Cayn Enterprises and Solo-Step.

Chris received a B.S. in Business Economics from South Dakota State University and his MBA from the University of South Dakota. Chris also teaches courses for both Universities in the areas of New Product Development, Selling and Entrepreneurship.

Glenn J. Boomsma,  Attorney at Law

 

Mr. Boomsma serves as Consulting Attorney for The Professionals Group, LLC and its clients.  Glenn is a Licensed Attorney with the the States of SD and MN, currently practicing law with the Breit Law Offices, P.C. in Sioux Falls, SD.  Glenn's emphasis is in Real Estate Law, as he is a Licensed Real Estate Broker with the State of SD and is well versed in 1031 exchanges.  He is available for legal representation in general practice of law with emphasis on real estate, transactional law, landlord /   tenant, business litigation, and workers compensation and personal injury law. Glenn received his Doctorate of Law from the University of Oklahoma College of Law,  in Norman, Oklahoma.  He also received his Bachelor of Science, Sociology and Criminal Justice Degree from South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD.

 


 

Bud Sandberg, CM&A, CBC, CMEA, CBB

Machinery & Equipment Appraiser

 

Mr. Sandberg is President and Broker of Wals & Associates, Ltd. Prior to entering the business brokerage business 16 years ago, He owned and operated several businesses. He is a member of The Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors (AMAA), the Institute of Certified Business Counselors (I-CBC), National Equipment & Business Brokers Institute (NEBB), International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and Business Brokers Network (BBN). Bud received his education at Bethel College, Southern Illinois University and the University of Minnesota. Bud is a certified Machinery/Equipment appraiser. For a number of years, he has served as President of the BBN Advisory Council. Mr. Sandberg is President and Broker of Wals & Associates, Ltd. Prior to entering the business brokerage business 16 years ago, He owned and operated several businesses. Business Evaluation Systems 

 

George D. Abraham has been involved in the transfer of over 450 businesses and performed over 12,000 appraisals in the past 32 years. Two of the appraisals Mr. Abraham was involved in passed the scrutiny of the World Bank.  He has performed close to 2,000 appraisals for bank and SBA financing purposes. He has done several appraisals valued over $7 billion. He has owned and operated several types of businesses throughout his career. His company has over 450 trained valuation partners around the country that enable his company to perform appraisal and consulting assignments at competitive rates.  His company was the first in the nation to develop and gain national attention for its unique and highly accurate business evaluation software programs that have been marketed to business brokers and appraisers all over the country.  At present, the programs are being developed and marketed, under the supervision of Mr. Abraham, by John Wiley and Sons Publishing Company for worldwide distribution.  He has consulted with the nation's top intermediaries, accountants, attorneys and appraisal companies, and his programs are being used in nearly 2,000 offices nationwide, as well as in Canada and England.  He is a licensed Real Estate Broker, Real Estate Appraiser, Business Appraiser, Machinery and Equipment Appraiser, Board Certified Business Broker, Certified Environmental Inspector, Certified Business Intermediary, Licensed State Property Tax Consultant, Accredited Review Appraiser, Certified Business Counselor, and prior instructor for the Continuing Education Real Estate Course in Business Appraisal at the University of Houston.  Attorneys, accountants, and other clients retain him regularly for appraisals and consulting, as well as for court testimony as an expert witness, on the local, national and international level.  He has previously served two consecutive terms as a board member and panel chairman for the Galveston Central Appraisal Review Board.

John R. Harris - ASA, MCBC

Machinery & Equipment Appraiser 

 

 

John R. Harris holds a certified general appraisal license in several states and has over 25 years of appraisal experience.

He holds a Master of Business Administration degree and has owned several successful businesses. He is the Lead Machinery and Equipment appraiser for Business Evaluation Systems. has operated both nationally and internationally in appraisal and brokerage and has been a member of the World Trade Center having performed appraisal and consulting services for the Mexican and Venezuelan governments in Central and South America. He has also served as a consultant for large U.S. entities including Ford Motor Company, General Motors, General Electric, International Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut Corporation, U.S. Air Force, Boeing, Cessna Aircraft, and U.S. Navy.

Currently, Mr. Harris teaches appraisal technique in Business, Real Estate, and Machinery/Equipment for several national organizations. He serves nationally as an arbitrator in business disputes for the American Arbitration Association, New York City. He is a member and contributing guest speaker to the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), the California Association of Business Brokers (CABB), Society of Business Analysts (SBA) Houston, Texas, and the Institute of Certified Business Counselors (ICBC). As a member of ICBC, he is one of only a few individuals to hold the MCBC designation indicating Master Certified Business Counselor. As a member of SBA, he holds the professional credential of CSBA indicating Certified Senior Business Appraiser.

John Harris is the Director of National Equipment & Business Brokers Institute. As the Director, he has trained over 100 appraisers in 28 states and Canada as of this date in the field of machinery/equipment appraisal. The Institute awards those who qualify the professional designation of CMEA indicating Certified Machinery/ Equipment Appraiser.
